Soot Sprite Incense Burner

This is a hand built, ceramic incense burner made to resemble a soot sprite from Studio Ghibli’s films Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. The incense smoke comes out the top. These burners take incense cones and have an open back. 
DO NOT Wash or get wet. Wiping out the inside is all that’s needed as these are not glazed but painted.

Everything is made by hand and fired in a kiln in my garage- a process that takes weeks to achieve.

These burners do not come with a base. A cone should never be placed on wood or anything other than stone, glass or metal. A small plate works as a base- or any kind of slate from nature or your local hardware store.

Indoor or covered area only for longevity of the piece. Do not wash or run under water!
